As the new year begins, everything takes on a fresh look. The fulfilling year of 2025 has drawn to a successful close. The hopeful year of 2026 is stepping in. We extend our New Year greetings to all faculty, staff, and students! We offer our sincere regards to the retired faculty and staff! We express our heartfelt gratitude to alumni at home and abroad, as well as friends from all sectors of society, who have consistently cared for and supported the development of the university!
Looking back on 2025, under the leadership of the university Party and administration, all faculty, staff, and students, guided by Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, fully implemented major decisions and arrangements from higher authorities. We focused on building an innovative Zhejiang and an innovative Taizhou. We coordinated efforts to advance the university’s upgrading and doctoral program applications. We were united to strive for excellence. With dedication and pioneering spirit, we achieved gratifying progress in all endeavors.
This year, “Party-building” has guided our “career prosperity.” We conducted high-quality education on thoroughly implementing the spirit of the Central Committee’s eight-point regulations, driving the university’s high-quality development through effective inspection and rectification. Deepening the implementation of the provincial committee’s “two major articles,” the university utilized the Party-building chain to guide the talent chain, empower the industrial chain, and support the education chain.
The university shared its experiences twice at major provincial meetings and was selected as a typical innovation case in Zhejiang. By deepening “integration and dual excellence,” the University Party Committee successfully passed the mid-term inspection for the fourth batch of provincial Party-building demonstration universities. Additionally, two basic level Party organizations passed the acceptance phase for the provincial university Party-building “dual innovation” initiative. The “Reclaiming the Wilderness and Cultivating the Heart” organizational staff pilot studio was selected as one of the first provincial university construction units.
The municipal committee’s New Taizhou magazine featured our Party-building collaboration between the university, enterprises, and local government, highlighting how we empower the high-quality development of the private economy. In the 2024 provincial comprehensive assessment, the university was honored as an advanced unit and ranked in the first tier, with its leadership team rated as excellent.
This year, our focus on “substantive development” solidified the path toward a “strong university.” Vigorously advancing the “Classroom Revolution,” the institution achieved one second prize in the National Teaching Innovation Competition, six provincial teaching achievement awards, four provincial outstanding achievements in philosophy and social sciences awards, and approval for three national-level first-class courses and one provincial key-supported modern industrial college.
Firmly establishing disciplines as the leading force, four of our disciplines entered the top 500 in the ShanghaiRanking (Soft Science) Global Ranking of Academic Subjects. Notably, the chemistry discipline reached the top 5‰ in the ESI global rankings and was included in the 2025 ShanghaiRanking Best Chinese Subjects.
The institution secured 23 National Natural Science Foundation projects and five National Social Science Foundation projects, added two provincial key laboratories, and achieved a breakthrough with the establishment of a provincial collaborative innovation center. Comprehensively deepening local services, one of our projects was selected as an outstanding national university rural revitalization case, and the “China-Mexico Intelligent Manufacturing Silk Road College” was included in the provincial “Belt and Road ‘Silk Road College’” initiative.
The institution appointed 48 “Industry Professors” and dispatched 36 “Science and Technology Commissioners,” empowering various industries with artificial intelligence and enhancing confidence in serving industrial development.
Continuously highlighting distinctive educational features, the Dachen Island Reclamation Spirit Education Base was selected as a Ministry of Education 2025 Red Culture Promotion Base. Furthermore, the “Taizhou Harmony Ideo-political Education” practice was chosen as a typical case in the PRC Ministry of Education’s 2025 integrated ideo-political education work for universities, primary, and secondary schools. The exhibition hall showcasing the achievements of our high-level applied university construction vividly illustrates the mission of “running a university well to prosper a city.”
This year, the “spirit of service” strengthened the bond between teachers and students. We deepened the “coordinated development of five aspects of education,” worked to build “the university that cares most for its students,” and advanced the vision of “Harmonious Taizhou University, Vibrant Taizhou University, Beautiful Taizhou University, and Happy Taizhou University.”
The third-phase project of the Jiaojiang Campus progressed efficiently, and the International School of Nursing resolved connectivity issues between campuses, culminating in the Jiaojiang Campus achieving full enclosure for the first time in its history.
We also fully completed the annual “Ten Major Practical Matters for Serving Teachers and Students,” while the “One-Trip-at-Most” reform brought substantial convenience to faculty and students. Innovation and entrepreneurship education delivered impressive results: the university won the National Top Prize in the “Challenge Cup” and, for the first time, earned the title of “Challenge Star” as the champion in the “AI+” specialized competition—setting a new historic best.

The year 2026 marks the beginning of the implementation of the 15th Five-Year Plan and is also a critical year for advancing the coordinated goals of “upgrading to a higher-level university and applying for doctoral programs.” Let us unite more closely around the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core, remain mindful of the “major national priorities,” focus on the “key provincial affairs,” and align ourselves with the “city’s aspirations.” We will vigorously promote the “Six-Diligence Work Style” and the “Four-Thousand Spirit,” lay a stronger foundation for high-quality development, and further enhance the effectiveness of reform and innovation.
Together, let us strive to accelerate the construction of a high-level applied university characterized by distinctive engineering strengths, a profound tradition in teacher education, and coordinated development across multiple disciplines.
