On the morning of January 15, the inauguration ceremony of Taizhou Marine Innovative Proof-of-Concept and Commercialization Center and Shanghai Ocean University Taizhou Technology Transfer Sub-center was successfully held at Taizhou University’s Comprehensive Science and Technology Building. Present at the ceremony were Yang Lingling, Vice Mayor of Taizhou Municipal Government, Luo Yi, Vice President of Shanghai Ocean University, Zhu Jian, Secretary of Taizhou University Party Committee, Zhao Xiaoyan, Deputy Secretary-General of Taizhou Municipal Government, and Du Niansheng, Director of Taizhou Marine Economic Development Bureau.

At the ceremony, Yang Lingling and Zhu Jian unveiled the plaque for Taizhou Marine Innovative Proof-of-Concept and Commercialization Center, while Luo Yi and Zhu Jian unveiled the plaque for Shanghai Ocean University Taizhou Technology Transfer Sub-center.

It is reported that Taizhou Marine Innovative Proof-of-Concept and Commercialization Center was established by Taizhou Municipal People’s Government based on TU. As a core hub of Taizhou’s marine innovation and development system, it aims to gather resources in the marine field and build a high-level scientific and technological innovation service platform. The center started operation in December 2024 relying on Taizhou Marine Transfer Technology Co. Ltd., and was officially approved for establishment by the executive meeting of the municipal government in January 2025. Focusing on key industries including marine fisheries, biomedicine, and shipbuilding and marine engineering, the center has initially established a scientific and technological innovation service mechanism of “government guidance and market operation”, forming an online-offline integrated service system centered on “verification, transformation, acceleration, and connection”. At present, more than 60 experts have been recruited into the talent pool, over 10 scientific research institutions have been connected, more than 120 projects have been collected, and the online platform “Hai Zhuan Tong” has been officially put into operation. The center has also promoted the establishment of Taizhou Haifa Fishery Breeding Technology Co. Ltd., and facilitated the implementation of key projects such as the “Salt-Fresh Water Flushing Project”.

Prior to the meeting, the attending leaders visited the Exhibition Hall of Achievements in the Construction of Taizhou University as a High-Level Application-Oriented University, and the Exhibition Hall of Achievements of Taizhou Marine Innovative Proof-of-Concept and Commercialization Center. They also watched an on-site demonstration of “Hai Zhuan Tong”, a platform mini-program providing the marine science and technology innovation service.

Officials from relevant departments of Taizhou Municipal Government, Shanghai Ocean University and TU, as well as all staff of Taizhou Marine Innovative Proof-of-Concept and Commercialization Center, attended the ceremony.
