On the morning of May 28, Taizhou Engineers Conference and the Forum on Industry-Education Integration for Excellent Engineers were held at Taizhou University’s International Conference Hall. President Le Chuanyong, Vice President Li Jianjun, Taizhou Association for Science and Technology Chairman Ruan Jimin, and Deputy Director Xu Tao of Taizhou Economy and Information Bureau attended, along with over 50 enterprise representatives and faculty-student delegates.

President Le stated: “A strong university prospers a city.” He reaffirmed the university’s mission to serve Taizhou, aiming for “upgrading to a higher-level university, applying for doctoral programs, and striving for first-class.” Using the Engineers College as a hub, the university is driving deep integration of education, talent, industry, and innovation chains. He introduced the “Golden Seed Program,” a “four-stage advancement, project-driven” model that embeds talent cultivation directly into workshops and production lines, nurturing engineers who are visionary, skilled, grounded, compassionate, and responsible. He also called for innovative talent recruitment models such as “faculty employed by the university but working in enterprises,” urging companies to share their technical challenges and talent needs with the university, which will deliver solutions and engineers in return.

Ruan Jimin outlined the Association’s initiatives to support the “5+5+6” modern industrial system, positioning engineers as the critical bridge between scientific and industrial innovation. He pledged to serve as a “home” for science and technology professionals and to facilitate genuine integration of industry and education, ensuring that university resources align with industrial demands.

Unveiling of the Taizhou Excellent Engineers Joint Committee and the Cultivation Alliance

During the signing session, the university and enterprise representatives signed the “Golden Seed Program” cultivation agreements, awarded industry professor titles, and inaugurated internship bases. From framework to implementation, the collaboration is advancing toward “real projects, real positions, real training.”

Representatives from LEO Group, Weixing New Materials, and the Southeast Zhejiang AI and Big Data Research Institute, along with mentors and students, shared real-world examples: summer “Star Maker” internships, intensive “AI + Industrial Design” boot camps, and joint university-enterprise supervision—demonstrating the Taizhou approach of “cultivating talent in the workshop.”

Roundtable dialogue

In the roundtable discussion, Deputy Director Xu Tao and representatives from local universities explored “Government-University-Enterprise Collaboration: Empowering Excellent Engineer Development.” The consensus was that excellent engineer cultivation requires government platform-building, university-enterprise co-education, and multi-party collaboration. The forum also reviewed and approved the Charter of Taizhou Excellent Engineers Joint Committee, providing institutional support for future work.

In his concluding remarks, Vice President Li Jianjun stated that industry-education integration is the essential path for Taizhou’s manufacturing transformation, and excellent engineers are the core engine for the city’s renewed prosperity. The university will continue to deepen “real-world” practical teaching and forge closer development and shared-fate partnerships with Taizhou enterprises, contributing “Taizhou University strength” to the city’s ambition of becoming a globally advanced manufacturing hub.
