The Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council released its 2026 list of degree authorisations approved through the annual adjustment process on 10 September, authorising Taizhou University to offer a Professional Master’s Degree in Transportation, one of only seven provincially coordinated quota allocations granted across Zhejiang. The approval highlights the university’s efforts to align its academic offerings with regional transport development. With this new accreditation, the university now hosts 18 master’s programmes, comprising three research-based degrees in first-level disciplines and 15 professional master’s degrees.
In recent years, the university has consistently strengthened its academic disciplines and degree programmes through forward-looking planning and strategic optimisation, steadily aligning its academic structure with regional socio-economic and industrial demands. The approval of the transportation programme marks a key milestone, granting the university full accreditation across all eight professional engineering master’s disciplines. Furthermore, the new programme will create an interdisciplinary cluster alongside existing programmes in civil engineering and water conservancy, mechanical engineering, and energy and power. This synergy is designed to meet the precise requirements of regional infrastructure projects and the transport industry, expanding the university’s capacity to serve local socio-economic development, improving the cultivation of high-calibre professionals with practical expertise and interdisciplinary skills, and providing vital talent and academic backing for high-quality regional growth.
