International Women’s Day celebrated

A series of activities were held on March 7th to celebrate the 114th International Women’s Day. The activities were co-hosted by the University Union, University Women’s Federation, the Youth League Committee, and the Logistics Service and Management Department of Taizhou University.

At 1:30 p.m., the walking activities kicked off simultaneously on the two campuses of Jiaojiang and Linhai. Under the organization of the subcommittees of University Union, and following the routes specified, faculty and staff set out in groups of three to five or paired up, walking briskly under the warm spring sun along the green shade, beside the Heart Lake, and on the green pathways.

In the evening, more than 400 women faculty members attended movie screenings at Jiaojiang Times Starry Sky Cinema and Linhai Xingyuan Cinema. Everyone had the freedom to choose between the two popular movies, “The Twentieth Rule” and “Yolo”. Both movies had their own unique features and presented lighthearted and humorous plots, allowing everyone to completely relax their minds and bodies while watching.

It is learned that, to celebrate International Women’s Day, the university invited Yang Luoqi, the deputy director of the Health Department of Taizhou Women and Children’s Hospital affiliated with Wenzhou Medical University, to give a lecture titled “Flowers Will Bloom, Youth Should Not Get Lost” on women’s health popular science knowledge. Guangwen Supermarkets on both campuses organized a “Goddess Festival” commodity discount event for the Day. The university’s faculty canteen offered a lunch discount to women faculty members on March 8th as a token of gratitude to the hardworking women faculty members in teaching, research, and management positions.
