Zhejiang Provincial Department of Education officially announced the list of the first batch of language and writing promotion bases in Zhejiang Province. TU was on the list of the sixty-one identified bases.
TU’s language and writing promotion base is accommodated in the School of Humanities. Under the guidance of TU’s Language and Writing Committee, the base has formed a complete and clear language and writing promotion structure with the functions of “studio, research institute, industrial institute and communication center”, focusing on the promotion of language and writing, cultural inheritance and innovation, bilingual teaching in aid of Xinjiang, teaching of Chinese to foreigners, protection of rural culture and communication through integrated media, and others. In recent years, based on the base, the university has organized the Chinese Classics Recitation Competition, the Manderin Promotion Week activities, the protection of local characteristic culture, the promotion of the language and writing system in the assisted construction regions, the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language, and the promotion of outstanding traditional culture, and has made achievements in the promotion of the standard spoken and written Chinese language, and the promotion of outstanding traditional Chinese cultural activities.
Being selected as one of the first batch of language and writing promotion bases of Zhejiang Province is an affirmation of the university’s work in the cultivation of language and writing talents, social service, language and writing research, and the promotion of outstanding traditional culture. TU will take this opportunity to promote the high-quality and connotative development of the university’s language and writing work by focusing on the service of casting a firm sense of the Chinese national community and opening up new horizons for the cultivation of talents in language and writing and the social application of language disciplines.
