The farewell party for the students enlisted in the military in the fall of 2024 was held in the multi-functional hall of Xinhu Academy on Jiaojiang Campus on the afternoon of September 11. Xiang Fengri, Deputy Secretary of the CPC TU Committee, attended and delivered a speech, while the heads of Department of Student Affairs (Department of Armed Forces) of the university, the deputy secretaries of the Party committees of School of Pharmaceutical and Chemical Engineering and School of Art and Design, as well as the counselors attended the farewell party. Yang Qifu, Director of Department of Students Affairs (Department of Armed Forces), presided over the meeting.

At the party, students were dressed in military uniforms, wearing ribbons, neatly lined up with full spirits. Xiang congratulated the three students who were enlisted and presented them with red paper flowers and books. He pointed out that college students’ enlisting in the military is a vivid embodiment of contemporary youth national sentiment. It shows their sense of responsibility and commitment. He hoped that they would cherish their military career, obey orders and discipline, and work and train hard, so as to become distinguished soldiers.

The prospective recruits reported their own situation and their realization of joining the army in turn, expressed their gratitude to their alma mater and their firm determination to serve the country by strengthening the army, and said that they would uphold the spirit of TU’s school motto, and would continue to work hard after they arrived at the army to show the style of TU students, and endeavor to become an excellent soldier.
