2024 University Club Culture Festival concludes

On the evening of November 30th, the closing ceremony of the 2024 University Club Culture Festival & the 15th Club Talent Show was held in the auditorium of TU’s Linhai Campus. Pan Yao, Secretary of the University Youth League Committee, as well as the secretaries of the youth league committees of the academic schools attended the event as judges, with over 800 students present to watch the performances.

Student clubs and artistic talents from both Jiaojiang and Linhai campuses gathered at the final competition site, presenting a wonderful show together. The Latin Dance Club opened with a fiery dance, “Hot Latin” igniting the audience’s enthusiasm; the Human Nature Association’s dance performance, “Lan Ting Xu(Preface to the Orchid Pavilion Poems) blended folk, pop songs, and classical dance to present the elegance of Chinese culture that has lasted for thousands of years; the Elegance Recitation Society delivered “Changgexing”(Song of the Long March) through three different recitation styles, vividly presenting the flowing and elegant ancient charm; the TY Street Dance Club’s “Beat It” set the stage on fire, pushing the atmosphere to a climax; the Nursing Association’s song “Ordinary Angel” celebrated life and hope, saluting the healthcare workers who work day and night; the Falling Cherry Anime Club’s dance “Idol” was lively and charming, captivating everyone’s attention; the Wenyuan Sinology Society’s scenario play “Dream of the Eastern Capital” combined dance and storytelling, allowing the audience to experience the dreamlike elegance of Bianliang during the Northern Song Dynasty; the Maple Drama Society’s performance of the Shaoxing Opera “Da Jinzhi · Chuanggong(Entering the Palace to Beat the Princess) vividly presented the beauty of opera through its gentle and emotional singing; the fashion show “Give Me Now, Not Shy” performed by University Youth League’s Art and Etiquette Departments was exquisite and elegant, with the models exuding confidence and showing off the beauty of youth through diverse catwalk styles; the ACE Street Dance Club’s “Machika · Yonce” was passionate and exciting, taking the audience through the world of street dance and experiencing the endless creativity behind each turn and jump; the Traditional Sports Association’s “Jingwu Feiyang (Vigorous Martial Arts) used martial arts and dragon and lion dances to showcase the passionate spirit of sports, once again igniting the atmosphere. Lastly, the song “Thus” by Zhao Jiru and Zhang Shengze immersed the audience in the world of music, experiencing another kind of tranquility. The entire event was filled with highlights and a warm atmosphere, providing the audience with a feast for both the eyes and ears.

Star Club Awards

At the closing ceremony, awards were presented to star clubs and winning performances. the “Five-Star” Club honor for the 2023-2024 academic year was awarded to the Maple Drama Society, Nursing Association, and Wenyuan Sinology Society; the “Four-Star” Club honor to the Clinical Medicine Association and four other clubs; the “Three-Star” Club honor to the Medical Testing Association and nine other clubs. The Traditional Sports Association and Maple Drama Society won first prize in the 15th Talent Show. The event concluded with a group photo of all the performers and staff.

Since the opening of the Club Culture Festival in October, various clubs on both campuses have showcased their unique features, presenting over twenty activities such as the Host Competition, Recitation Contest with the theme of “Inheriting the Revolutionary Spirit, Reciting Patriotic Poems” and various ball games, offering a cultural feast for the teachers and students of the university. This demonstrated the important role of student clubs in the “extracurricular” education.
