On May 27th, the High Talk (Elite Sharing and Exchange) event of Zhejiang Universities’ Western Returned Scholars Association, titled “Returning to Zhejiang and Marching Towards New,” was successfully held in Taizhou. TU’s Western Returned Scholars Association organized a special seminar to explore the internationalization path for universities, and invited representatives of the Association to visit Dachen Island Reclamation Spirit Research Center. Wu Yinyin, Member of the CPC TU Committee, Director of Organization Department, and Director of United Front Work Department, attended the event. Members of the United Front Work Department and the Association also participated.

Event highlights
At the seminar, Wu Yinyin pointed out that the global education is undergoing profound changes, with breakthroughs in artificial intelligence technology, the deepening of the “Belt and Road” initiative, and the deeply-rooted concept of a community with a shared future for mankind. This not only brings unprecedented opportunities for the internationalization of universities, but also puts forward higher requirements for educational philosophy, management methods, and resource integration capabilities. She summarized the future trend of internationalization of universities from three aspects: integrating into the national development to promote the modernization and internationalization, deepening the connotation construction to cultivate high-level international talents with a global perspective, and innovating communication paradigms to enhance the international discourse power and influence. After that, she encouraged other universities to explore innovation, strengthen cooperation, and share resources. At the meeting, representatives from such universities as Communication University of Zhejiang and Wenzhou Medical University exchanged ideas on such topics as international communication and cross-border talent cultivation. Before the meeting, they also visited Dachen Island Reclamation Spirit Research Center, Taizhou Biomedical Industry Research Institute, Zhejiang Provincial Key Laboratory of Plant Evolutionary Ecology and Conservation, and the University History Museum.

During the visit
Kashan, a teacher from the School of Civil Engineering and Architecture, and Chen Long, Jin Han, and Chen Lijia, three students from the International School, became the first batch of “Overseas Promotion Officer.” Through various forms of online and offline promotion, suggestions and recommendations, they would systematically promote Zhejiang’s development achievements, disseminate its innovative practices, and provide Zhejiang examples for telling stories of China.

Event highlights
In the communication session, Professor Kong Xiangdong and Wang Hongyun from the School of Intelligent Manufacturing (Aeronautical Engineering) exchanged with students from Zhejiang universities on the topic of “Transformation and Upgrading of Zhejiang’s Traditional Manufacturing Industry.” By focusing on intellectual property protection, international technology cooperation, standard alignment, core technology breakthroughs, and dual teacher talent cultivation, they highlighted the key role of overseas returned talents in the connection between academic and industrial chains, as well as cross-cultural innovation.
