Taizhou University’s Dragon and Lion Dance Team, led by Qin Yude, Luo Xiwen, and Ye Ting, won first prize in Creative Traditional Lion Dance and first prize in Optional Northern Lion Routine at the 12th Zhejiang Provincial Dragon and Lion Championship held in May 31st to June 1st at the Culture and Sports Center in Si’an Town, Changxing County, Huzhou City. Over 400 dragon and lion dance players from 27 teams across Zhejiang Province gathered together to compete, pray for peace and health during the Dragon Boat Festival, and share the passion and joy of this traditional ethnic sport. TU’s dragon dance team also won a third prize in Prescribed Dragon Dance Routine.

The team members vividly demonstrated the essence of dragon and lion dance through tacit cooperation. The unique charm of the sport was fully displayed. The dignity and agility of the dragon, the lion’s multiple expressions such as happiness, anger, surprise, suspicion, and joy were vividly showcased.
Behind this honor lies the joint efforts of the coaching team and the team members. The university’s dragon and lion dance coaches, with years of teaching experience, follow scientific training plans, leading team members to practice diligently day and night, refining every detail of each movement. The team members persisted in training even during holidays, nurturing their dreams with sweat. Their flawless performance on the competition field was the best reward for their perseverance.
