TU’s first staff tennis tournament concludes successfully

Taizhou University’s first staff tennis tournament kicked off on June 7th at the tennis courts of the Jiaojiang Campus. The tournament, organized by the University Labor Union and undertaken by the University Tennis Association, aimed to enrich campus cultural life, enhance staff physical fitness, and promote communication and friendship. The event featured men’s singles, men’s doubles, women’s singles, and mixed doubles. It attracted enthusiastic registration and active participation from staff across various schools.

After a day’s competition, the champions of each event were determined, and the tournament concluded successfully. In the highly anticipated men’s singles, Lu Jianbo from the School of Foreign Languages won the championship trophy with outstanding performance. Ren Zhaoxiang and Bai Liang from the School of Teacher Education (Physical Education) won the second and third places respectively. The women’s singles were equally exciting. Huang Tingmei from the Student Affairs Department won the championship. Song Zongpei from the School of Teacher Education (Physical Education) and Geng Huimin from the Business School won second and third places respectively. In the doubles events, Ren Zhaoxiang from the School of Teacher Education (Physical Education) and Wu Renshui from the Business School won the men’s doubles championship. Lu Jianbo from the School of Foreign Languages and Huang Tingmei from the Student Affairs Department claimed the mixed doubles championship.

This tennis tournament not only provided a high-quality platform for staff to compete and enhance communication but also fully demonstrated their positive, enterprising, and collaborative spirit. Participating staff expressed that they would take this tournament as a new starting point, continue to strengthen physical exercise, and engage in teaching and research work with greater enthusiasm and motivation, contributing more to the university’s development.
