Taizhou University’s “Red Zhejiang-Xinjiang · Mountain-Sea Affection” practice team delivered outstanding performance in the 2025 Anhui Province Secondary and Tertiary School Students Volunteer Summer “San Xia Xiang” Social Practice Activity launched on June 18th in Xuancheng City. The event was guided by the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, the Ministry of Education, and other units, and jointly hosted by Anhui Provincial Committee of the Communist Youth League and Xuancheng Municipal Government. “San Xia Xiang” involves activities of bringing culture/science and technology/hygienic health to the countryside of China.

The launching ceremony released the list of key social practice research topics for Xuancheng in 2025. It also awarded prizes to those outstanding research reports, excellent teams, and excellent organizing units in the 2024 Yangtze River Delta social practice activities.
The research report titled “ ‘Red Zhejiang-Xinjiang’ Decodes a New Path for Common Prosperity Between Mountain and Sea Areas—Practical Exploration of Youth Assisting Agriculture and Aiding Xinjiang,” guided by Zhang Tianhua from the School of Marxism and completed by students Wang Yitian, Wang Yijia, Mu Mingliang, and Xu Luying, stood out among entries from over a hundred universities in the Yangtze River Delta region and was rated as an Outstanding Research Report of the Yangtze River Delta. This honor is not only an affirmation of the team’s professional ability but also full recognition of the effectiveness of TU’s practical education work.

In nearly three years of social practice, the “Red Zhejiang-Xinjiang · Mountain-Sea Affection” practice team overcame difficulties such as language barriers and transportation inconveniences, traveled 4,600 kilometers, went deep into 3 counties and cities and 8 towns in Xinjiang, visited over 30 community-level units including farmers, enterprises, and cooperatives, and conducted in-depth interviews more than 50 times. The work focused on the collaborative aid-Xinjiang practice between Taizhou City, Zhejiang Province, and Alar City, the First Division of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, exploring paths for deep integration of agricultural assistance and cultural enrichment in Xinjiang, providing a youth perspective sample for high-quality development in the border regions.

Chen Mingsheng, Secretary of the Anhui Provincial Committee of the Communist Youth League, emphasized in his speech: “Everyone should enhance their abilities, temper their youth, and interpret their responsibility through practice, contributing their youthful wisdom and strength to striving to write the chapter of Chinese modernization.” This guiding principle highly aligns with the practice philosophy of the “Red Zhejiang-Xinjiang · Mountain-Sea Affection” team and points out the growth direction for Taizhou University youth.

TU youth have strengthened their ideals and convictions through practice. They focus on social hot spots, pay attention to people’s livelihoods, conduct field visits and research, perform analysis and reporting, effectively attending the “great ideo-political course” integrated with reality. In these off-campus classrooms, they cultivate patriotic sentiment, ignite a pioneering spirit, and develop solid skills. They measure the motherland with their steps, and discover the Chinese spirit with their eyes. They listen to the people’s voices with their ears, and feel the call of the times with their hearts. TU has been attaching great importance to practical education, using it as an important means to cultivate applied talents. This award is another important achievement in cultivating new-era youth with patriotic sentiment, pioneering spirit, and practical ability.
