Taizhou University Aerobics Team alumni return to campus for 20th anniversary celebration

Alumni members of the Taizhou University Aerobics Team returned on August 8 to their alma mater to hold a cultural event themed “Tribute · Inheritance · Bloom,” jointly celebrating the team’s 20th founding anniversary. Li Junmin, Member of the University Party Committee and Vice President, Lin Huijie, Party Secretary of the School of Teacher Education (Physical Education), and Zhu Xianggan, former Party Secretary of the School of Sports Science, were invited to attend.

Li Junmin extended warm congratulations on the 20th anniversary of the Aerobics Team. She outlined the university’s educational philosophy and development trajectory, engaging in in-depth exchanges with alumni across different graduating classes to provide a more comprehensive understanding of the university’s current status. She fully affirmed the honors the Aerobics Team has won for the university over the past two decades, including hundreds of awards at or above the provincial level, and the outstanding performances of hundreds of graduates who have leveraged their expertise to excel in various fields. Li expressed hopes that the team would maintain its fine traditions, promote the spirit of aerobics, strive to become a leading team in Zhejiang Province and a renowned team nationally, and achieve even more brilliant accomplishments in the future.

Anniversary celebration

During the event, alumni from various years engaged in ample exchange. They revisited the team’s evolution and past shared experiences in the gymnasium (Aerobics Hall) and shared skills with one another. Zhang Tubing, the team’s first captain, and team member Zhong Huayan shared their personal growth experiences and offered advice to current students, encouraging them to cherish the present, harbor dreams, and embrace the future.

It is reported that since its establishment in 2005, Taizhou University Aerobics Team, upholding the spirit of innovation, improvement, and perseverance, has maintained excellent echelon development and continuous training, establishing itself as a quality sports brand. The team has represented Zhejiang Province four times in the National University Games. In 2017, the men’s team achieved a national 8th place finish, setting a historic best for Zhejiang universities. Under the guidance of Coach Wu Bo, the team has accumulated over 50 national and provincial championships. Three team members have been awarded the title of “National Master of Sports,” and 15 have received the title of “National First-Class Athlete.” Furthermore, the team has produced 11 Provincial Outstanding Graduates and 10 University Outstanding Graduates, supplying numerous aerobics education talents to the province.

Taizhou University Aerobics Team will continue to uphold its original aspirations, work tirelessly to cultivate and supply more outstanding talents for Zhejiang Province, and all members will strive together unremittingly towards this goal.
