Medical School students deliver outstanding performance in National Medical Innovation Contest

Two teams from Medical School of Taizhou University won one national gold and one silver prize in the 11th National Medical Innovation Contest for University Students and the 2025 “Belt and Road” International Medical Competition concluded at Shandong University on 15-19 August.

Upgraded from the former “National Forum of Basic Medical Innovation Research and Experimental Design,” the event attracted 45,000 students from more than 300 universities in 20 countries. After several rounds of campus training and selection, Medical School sent 15 teams to the eastern regional, where they secured two first prizes, five second prizes and three third prizes, with two teams advancing to the national final.

On the national finals stage, competing against over 820 teams from 10 countries, TUn students delivered stable performance, earning one gold medal in the Preventive Medicine track and one silver medal in the Basic and Clinical Medicine track.

In recent years, Medical School has been adhering to “student-centered” educational philosophy and deepened the reform of education and teaching. Through innovative measures such as “transforming experimental course assessments into competition formats” and “integrating disciplinary competitions into curriculum systems,” the school has continuously enhanced students’ innovative and practical abilities.

These awards fully demonstrate the effectiveness of the school’s cultivation of innovative medical talents and highlight the significant achievements in promoting students’ comprehensive development. The school will continue to deepen the reform of innovation and entrepreneurship education, improve competition organization and incentive mechanisms, provide more platforms for students to showcase their innovative capabilities, and contribute to cultivating high-quality medical talents with innovative spirit and practical abilities.
