Taizhou University students won 1 Gold Award, 2 Silver Awards, and 7 Bronze Awards in the “AI+” Special Competition of the 19th “Challenge Cup” Zhejiang Provincial College Students’ Extracurricular Academic Science and Technology Works Contest held this summer. The project “PipeWorm Pro Soft Pipe Dredging Robot” by 8 TU students, guided by teachers Bi Cheng and Wang Hongyun from School of Intelligent Manufacturing (Aeronautical Engineering), won the Gold Award. This marks the university’s first provincial-level gold award in this competition. This breakthrough is not only the recognition for the work of the winning team’s teachers and students but also a strong reflection of TU’s innovation and entrepreneurship education level and student cultivation quality.

Since the Youth League Committee launched the publicity for the “Challenge Cup” “AI+” Special Competition in the first half of the year, active support from the university leadership and secondary schools has been received. Through selection processes including school-level competitions, external review, and university-level competitions, 40 outstanding works were selected and submitted for the provincial competition.
During the summer preparation period, secondary schools and departments collaborated effectively. The participating project teams were fully engaged in all stages, including project incubation, selection, expert guidance, and refinement, ensuring continuous improvement in the quality of the works.
