2025 Summer Social Practice Showcase Competition

This year, TU’s summer social practice program, under the theme “Youth Shouldering Responsibility for Chinese Modernization,” involved 114 teams and over 1,200 students working across 10 key practice areas. Students ventured beyond campus to engage with communities across the country, using their energy to assess local social development achievements, embody the Dachen Island Reclamation Spirit through action, and cultivate “patriotic sentiment, a pioneering will, and solid practical skills.”

Team Presentations

Following recommendations from various schools and university departments, and an evaluation of research reports, 20 teams were selected to compete in the final event. Team representatives delivered compelling accounts of their experiences outside the university, sharing stories of how they measured local socio-economic progress.

The School of Humanities team, “Record of Xiangu’s Divine Craftsmanship,” produced a documentary series on local intangible cultural heritage through field research. The School of Foreign Languages team, “What Makes Youth,” focused on education for left-behind children and the well-being of migrant elderly. The School of Art and Design’s Digital Intelligence Assistance team analyzed challenges and proposed solutions for the children’s footwear industry in Taizhou and Wenzhou amidst declining birth rates. The School of Marxism team, “Zhejiang-Xinjiang Red Ties, Mountain-Sea Bond,” explored new opportunities for development between Taizhou and Aksu, supporting Zhejiang’s paired assistance program for Xinjiang. After intense competition, these four teams were awarded first prize. The event concluded with the judges presenting awards to the winning teams.
