TU students achieve outstanding results in 19th Zhejiang Provincial Normal University Students’ Teaching Competition

TU’s 28 participants delivered impressive performances, securing 2 first prizes, 7 second prizes, 11 third prizes, and 4 excellence awards in the 19th Zhejiang Provincial Normal Universities Students’ Teaching Competition concluded recently at Ningbo University. Held from October 31 to November 2, the event brought together outstanding future teachers from 25 universities across the province, serving as an important test of the quality of teacher education and students’ practical teaching abilities. TU’s total award count ranked fourth among all 25 participating institutions, fully demonstrating the solid foundation and effectiveness of TU’s teacher education programs.

Preparation for the competition began in June, coordinated by the Academic Affairs Office with close cooperation from the teacher education schools, establishing a framework of “collaborative promotion and precise guidance.” To select the most competitive team, a three-tier selection process was implemented: internal competitions within each school identified potential candidates; a university-level competition invited seasoned education experts to rigorously evaluate participants on teaching design, classroom presentation, and teaching reflection; finally, shortlisted students underwent specialized training and mock exercises before the final 28 representatives were chosen for the provincial competition.

Finalists and Advisors at the Competition

At the finals, TU’s students demonstrated the high quality of its teacher candidates through their solid subject knowledge, flexible teaching methodologies, and confident classroom management. Their lessons closely aligned with new curriculum standards, catered to student cognitive patterns, were logically structured with distinctive features, and successfully created an interactive atmosphere using engaging language and varied activities, earning praise from observing faculty and students. Throughout the process, the university’s team of faculty advisors provided comprehensive support, using their rich experience and professional expertise to offer targeted guidance, helping students perform at their best.

The university will continue to support and encourage participation in teaching competitions to further enhance the practical teaching skills of its education students, laying a solid foundation for cultivating outstanding future educators. Simultaneously, the university will summarize its experiences, continuously refine the organization and guidance for such competitions, and provide students with broader platforms and higher-quality educational resources.
