The 2nd Zhejiang Provincial Frontier Interdisciplinary Science Forum on Island Green Energy and New Materials Key Laboratory was successfully held on November 8 in Taizhou. Through a series of high-level academic reports and in-depth discussions, the forum facilitated the collision of academic ideas and collaborative innovation between industry, academia, and research, accelerating the platform construction of the Provincial Island Green Energy and New Materials Key Laboratory. This forum, providing a high-level, interdisciplinary academic exchange platform for experts and scholars from both domestic and international backgrounds, was jointly organized by the School of Materials Science and Engineering and the Provincial Island Green Energy and New Materials Key Laboratory.

At the opening ceremony, Vice President Han Deman attended and delivered a speech. He extended a warm welcome to all the experts and presented a letter of appointment to Professor Tore Brinck from the Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden, appointing him as a member of the Academic Committee of the Provincial Key Laboratory for Green Energy and New Materials of Islands.
In the subsequent academic exchange, Professor Tore Brinck, Professor Pei Yanzhong from Tongji University, Senior Engineer Zeng Jianrong from Shanghai Advanced Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Professor Jin Zhiwen from Lanzhou University, and Professor Tang Dianping from Fuzhou University delivered five outstanding academic presentations for the attending faculty and students. The reports not only broadened the research horizons of the attending teachers and students but also provided valuable opportunities for future interdisciplinary collaboration.
The successful hosting of this forum has not only effectively enhanced Taizhou University’s academic influence in the fields of island green energy and new materials but also injected new technological momentum into scientific and technological innovation and the construction of innovation platforms. It is believed that under the guidance of the experts and the diligent efforts of its teachers, the construction of the provincial key laboratory for island green energy and new materials will achieve further results and promote high-quality development of the local economy.
