The two projects of the “Zhejiang Together with Xinjiang” team represent outstanding achievements in TU’s interdisciplinary innovation practices under the framework of new liberal arts construction.
The first project, “Digital Intelligence for Zhejiang and Xinjiang: Empowering Integrated Ideo-political Education in Eastern and Western Regions with Vertical Domain Large Models,” focuses on the coordinated development of ideological and political education between eastern and western China. By utilizing vertical domain large models and artificial intelligence technology, it enables the intelligent matching and precise delivery of educational resources. This facilitates the implementation of an integrated strategy for ideological and political education across universities, secondary, and primary schools.
The second project, “‘Apricot’ Connecting Zhejiang and Xinjiang: A New Model for Empowering the Development of Xinjiang Apricots Through a Full-Link Approach,” is grounded in the context of rural revitalization in frontier regions. It innovatively proposes a “full-chain” empowerment approach for the development of Xinjiang’s apricot industry, promoting its standardization and branding. This project provides a replicable practical solution for advancing the economic revitalization of frontier areas.

The National New Liberal Arts Practice and Innovation Competition is a major academic event for universities nationwide. This year’s competition, themed “Integration, Innovation, Empowerment, Practice, Renewal,” aims to promote the in-depth integration of liberal arts education with societal development needs and explore new pathways for the reform of liberal arts education. The competition attracted over 160,000 students from 433 universities across 31 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities directly under the central government, with more than 25,000 projects submitted. The selection process included stages such as online evaluation, on-site presentations, and defense reviews, emphasizing the practical contributions of projects in serving national strategies, addressing development challenges, and promoting socio-economic progress, thereby advancing the shift in liberal arts talent cultivation from theory to practice.
