On the afternoon of December 7th, the 2nd Member Representative Conference of Taizhou Chemical Engineering and Technology Society was grandly convened in the Science and Technology Building of Jiaojiang Campus, Taizhou University. The conference was hosted by Taizhou Chemical Engineering and Technology Society and organized by the School of Pharmaceutical and Chemical Engineering of Taizhou University. Present at the event were Yu Hongbiao, Member of the Party Group and Vice Chairman of Taizhou Association for Science and Technology, as well as Han Deman, Vice President of TU, both of whom delivered speeches. More than 60 member representatives from Taizhou’s chemistry and chemical engineering industry took part in the conference.

At the conference, Professor Han Deman, the first Chairman of Taizhou Chemical Engineering and Technology Society, delivered the Work Report of the First Council of Taizhou Chemical Engineering and Technology Society. With a clear logic and detailed data, the report summarized the achievements in academic exchanges, industrial services, and talent cultivation, providing valuable experience for future development.

The conference deliberated and adopted the Report on the Financial Revenue and Expenditure of the First Council of Taizhou Chemical Engineering and Technology Society and the revised Charter of Taizhou Chemical Engineering and Technology Society. The leading bodies of the new council and supervisory board was also elected. Professor Huang Guobo, Dean of the School of Pharmaceutical and Chemical Engineering of TU, was elected Chairman of the new council, and Dr. Zheng Renhua Secretary-General.
On behalf of the new council, Huang Guobo delivered a speech, stating that he would vigorously promote the society to become an innovation hub for the deep integration of “government, industry, academia, research and application”. By actively carrying out academic exchanges, technology docking and other activities, he would like to give full play to its talent strength to reinforce its role as a bridge between scientific and technological workers and enterprises, and provide suggestions for the development of Taizhou’s Chemical Engineering and Technology industry.
On behalf of Taizhou Association for Science and Technology, Yu Hongbiao extended congratulations on the successful convening of the conference. He fully affirmed the work and achievements of the first council of the Society, emphasized its positive role in serving the local industry, and then expressed his hope that the new council would continue to give play to its professional advantages and provide intellectual support for Taizhou to build a highland of the pharmaceutical and chemical engineering industry in the Yangtze River Delta.
The convening of the conference marks a new stage of the society. In the future, centering on Taizhou’s goal of building a “Pharmaceutical and Chemical Engineering City”, the society will take the “integration of three chains” — innovation chain, industrial chain and talent chain — as the breakthrough point, and build a collaborative innovation ecosystem of “university R&D — society transformation — enterprise application”. By further integrating the resources of universities, enterprises and industries, the society will focus on tackling the common technical problems in the fields of biomedicine, green chemical engineering and new materials, promote the transformation and upgrading of Taizhou’s pharmaceutical and chemical engineering industry towards high-end, intelligent and green development, and inject strong impetus into the high-quality development of the regional economy.
