Centered on the theme of “Youth Striving to Shoulder the Responsibility for Chinese Modernization”, the 2026 Summer Social Practice Program for College Students in Zhejiang Province took the in-depth study and implementation of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era as its main line. The social practice focused on 10 key practice areas: Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, patriotic education, Chinese culture inheritance, scientific and technological innovation, rural revitalization, green development, social services, services for safeguarding the border areas and defending the motherland, observation of common prosperity, and practice of “Zhejiang Youth Integrity”.

Two University Achievements Selected

Provincial Typical Cases of Summer Social Practice
The selection campaign for typical cases of social practice was divided into five categories: Development Achievements, Civilization and Culture, Beautiful China, Livelihood Well-being and China’s Governance.
“Hello, Cultural Special Commissioner”, the team from the School of Humanities, explored the practical experience of cultural special commissioners in revitalizing Taizhou’s local cultural resources, which has provided support for advancing high-quality rural revitalization and common prosperity. “Metaverse: Integration of Culture and Tourism”, the team from the Business School, took well-known scenic spots such as Shenxianju and Dachen Island as research samples. By integrating metaverse, AI and blockchain technologies, the team has built a “value closed-loop system” for tourism metaverse, effectively addressing the pain points of traditional tourism and demonstrating significant application value. In celebration of the 20th anniversary of the proposal of “Two Mountains”, “Nature Discovery”, the team from the School of Life Sciences, made full use of its disciplinary strengths to launch a series of themed research activities. Guiding young people to connect closely with nature, these activities helped them grasp the core significance of biodiversity conservation through practice. “Digital-intelligent Assistance”, the team from the School of Art and Design, collected first-hand data through field visits on the development status of children’s shoe enterprises in Wenzhou and Taizhou. The team provided targeted support to local industries for technology-driven upgrading, which has great significance for promoting the transformation of traditional manufacturing from “Made-in-China” to “Intelligent Manufacturing + Brand Building”. “Zhejiang-Xinjiang Red Bond; Mountain-Sea Friendship”, the team from the School of Marxism, put forward targeted strategies for the development of the fruit industry in Xinjiang from the industrial, technological and youth perspectives. Meanwhile, the team promoted the realization of both material and cultural prosperity in Taizhou and Alar City in terms of greater integration between economy and culture.
In the end, two research outcomes were selected as typical cases of summer social practice among provincial universities: 1) The research report of “Metaverse: Integration of Culture and Tourism”: Constructing a Platform-based Value Closed-loop System for Tourism Metaverse — A Practical Research Analysis Based on Taizhou; 2) The research report of “Digital-intelligent Assistance”: Intelligent Technology Leading Value Innovation — A Youth Practice Exploration Based on Assisting Children’s Shoe Industry in Wenzhou and Taizhou.

Through practical activities, the young people have strengthened their ideals and demonstrated youthful dedication by focusing on social hotspots, earnestly caring about people’s livelihoods, conducting on-site visits and surveys, and compiling analytical reports. This is a good “big ideological and political course” integrated with reality, which has fostered their profound love for the country and the family in the social classroom, ignited the aspiration for pioneering work, and honed solid skills.
In the future, the young students will continue to cultivate a deep love for the country and the family, understand national and local conditions, enhance their knowledge and abilities, and stimulate their courage to take on responsibilities through social practice. By consciously integrating their personal ideals of “self-fulfillment” into the great cause of building a powerful country, they will contribute youthful strength to the construction of Chinese modernization.
