Three first-authorized degree programs of TU successfully pass 2025 Special Qualification Evaluation

Recently, the National Steering Committee for Postgraduate Education in Engineering Professional Degrees announced the results of the 2025 Special Qualification Evaluation. Three master’s professional degree programs of our university, namely Mechanical Engineering, Resources and Environment, and Materials and Chemical Engineering — the first batch of authorized degree programs — successfully passed the evaluation and were awarded the result of “Continued Authorization”.

The qualification evaluation of degree programs is a core system to ensure the quality of postgraduate education, and also a key measure to comprehensively test the construction level of degree programs and the effectiveness of postgraduate training. The university attaches great importance to it, adhering to early planning, careful deployment and elaborate organization. A special work plan for the qualification evaluation was formulated, and deployment meetings and training sessions were held successively to clarify work responsibilities at all levels and promote the solid implementation of various evaluation tasks in an orderly manner. Taking the lead in overall coordination, the Graduate School, together with the three participating degree programs, collaborated closely with clear division of labor. They strictly followed the evaluation index system, refined task lists, clarified time nodes, and reversed the work schedule. Meanwhile, they invited authoritative experts from outside the university for many times to review and optimize the evaluation materials, and successfully completed all work including the writing of self-evaluation reports, the collection of supporting materials, and the filling of data systems with high quality.

The successful passing of the evaluation for the three degree programs not only confirms our university’s innovation in the postgraduate training mode and the effectiveness of school-running and governance, but also recognizes our school’s precise alignment with the needs of regional economic and social development and active service for industrial upgrading. In the next step, the university will earnestly implement the feedback opinions of the Steering Committee, take this evaluation as an opportunity to focus on the connotative construction of degree programs, further refine school-running characteristics, strengthen core advantages, continuously strengthen the construction of the faculty team, deepen the reform of the postgraduate training mode, constantly improve the quality of postgraduate training and the competitiveness of disciplines, and promote the postgraduate education of the university to develop in a higher-quality and more distinctive direction.
