Recently, the Department of Education of Zhejiang Province announced the proposed recommended list of National Model Aesthetic Education Characteristic Schools. Relying on the distinctive achievements in the construction of the College Student Art Troupe, TU was selected as a recommended unit in the aesthetic education category (Model Student Art Troupe).

This selection is an important measure to deepen the reform of school aesthetic education and implement the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education. A total of 160 schools were recommended in Zhejiang Province, among which only 16 are universities, and our university is among them.

Guided jointly by the University Youth League Committee and the College of Art and Design, the College Student Art Troupe is the core platform for aesthetic education practice in our university. Adhering to the concept of aesthetic education for cultivating people, the troupe focuses on improving students’ artistic literacy, participates in major performances and artistic exchanges inside and outside the university. It plays an important role in creating a campus aesthetic education atmosphere and serving local cultural construction. In recent years, the troupe has won numerous awards in national and provincial art exhibitions, and the university has been awarded the “Excellent Organization Award” many times.

This selection is a full affirmation of the university’s aesthetic education work. The College Student Art Troupe will continue to deepen artistic practice, promote high-quality creation, talent training and cultural communication, constantly improve its professional level and demonstration leading role.
