China is a major automobile production and sales country, which has ranked first in the world for 12 consecutive years. Zhejiang Province plans to build a world-class automobile industry cluster, and the automobile industry is the largest industry in Ningbo and one of the two trillion-dollar industries vigorously developed, of which Hangzhou Bay New District is the agglomeration of Ningbo's automobile industry. In order to support the development of the regional automotive industry, the College moved into the Hangzhou Bay New Area Automotive Industry City in 2014 and became a modern automotive industry college operating on an independent campus. Since its establishment, the college has been closely focused on the development orientation of "based on the automotive industry, serving the automotive industry and cultivating automotive talents", and has taken institutional innovation as a breakthrough, actively joining hands with the Management Committee of Hangzhou Bay New Area, Ningbo education department, SAIC Volkswagen and Geely Group to establish the Hangzhou Bay Automotive College Joint School Council, exploring the way of running a modern industrial college with the integration of campus, industrial park and R&D park.
