Exploring Chinese path to modernization: Interpreting the spirit of the 3rd Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee with international students

On November 28, Zhao Xuan, a teacher from TU’s School of Marxism, shared with international students the topic “Promoting Chinese path to modernization: Understanding the spirit of the 3rd Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee.” Ma Junzhou, Vice Director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Department, school counselors, and over 140 international students were present to listen.

Mr. Zhao explained in detail the importance of the 3rd Plenary Session during the lecture, emphasizing its role in promoting China’s future development, especially in deepening reforms, promoting high-quality development, and addressing global challenges. He pointed out that China combines traditional culture with innovative strategies and is committed to building a sustainable, inclusive, and prosperous society. The key contents mentioned in the lecture also included China’s efforts in governance reform, technological innovation and promoting international cooperation through the “Belt and Road” initiative.

Mr. Zhao also emphasized that, for international students, learning opportunities in China are extremely valuable, providing world-class facilities, internship opportunities in high-tech industries, and participation in research projects to address global challenges. He encouraged everyone to take this opportunity to contribute to the development of their own countries.

At the end of the lecture, Mr. Zhao had an interactive Q&A session with the students, during which they raised questions about the relationship between China’s development strategy, modernization, and cultural protection, as well as how to integrate China’s experience with the situations of other countries. Many attendees expressed that this lecture was both inspiring and beneficial in deepening their understanding of China’s global role and their own role in this transformation process.

The lecture was informative and inspiring, not only deepening international students’ understanding of the Chinese system, but also stimulating their interest in China’s future and further clarifying their responsibilities and roles in the development process.
