Professor Li Shouli from Lanzhou University, at the invitation of the School of Life Sciences of TU, delivered an online academic lecture titled “Population Ecology Models and Its Application in Environmental Management Decision-making” and carried out academic exchanges on October 28th.
In the lecture, Professor Li introduced the main research contents and directions of population ecology, the development of population ecology models, and the application of the new generation of population ecology models in conservation ecology, invasion ecology and infectious disease ecology. Teachers and graduate students from the School of Life Sciences attended the lecture and had discussions with Prof. Li over academic issues they were concerned with.
Prof. Li Shouli has been long engaged in ecological research. She focuses on the conservation and restoration of ecosystems on the Tibetan Plateau and decision-making concerning grassland ecological management.
Expert Profile:
Li Shouli, a professor and doctoral supervisor of the College of Pastoral Agriculture Science and Technology, Lanzhou University and State Key Laboratory of Herbage Improvement and Grassland Argo-ecosystem, is mainly engaged in research on conservation and restoration of ecosystems on the Tibetan Plateau and decision-making concerning grassland ecological management. She received her PhD. in Ecology and Biodiversity from Utrecht University in the Netherlands and served as a researcher at the University of Turku in Finland and Pennsylvania State University in the United States. She is a committee member in the Ecological Society of China (ESC) on ecology of species, secretary-general in the Chinese Grassland Society (CGS) on grassland ecosystem and subeditor of Journal of Ecology.
