2024 Annual Work Meeting of “China-Belarus Advanced Coatings International Joint Laboratory” & 2024 “Belt and Road” International Advanced Coating Technology Workshop held in Beijing

The 2024 Annual Work Meeting of “China-Belarus Advanced Coatings International Joint Laboratory,” co-established by TU’s Wenling Research Institute and Belarus’ National Academy of Sciences, was recently held at the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Mechanization Sciences (CAAMS) in Beijing. Concurrently, the 2024 “Belt and Road” International Advanced Coating Technology Workshop was convened.

The event was co-hosted by TU’s Wenling Research Institute and CAAMS. Participants included Vladimir Levchenko, an academician of the Russian Academy of Engineering and co-leader of the joint laboratory; Nikolai Maishkin, an academician of the Belarusian Academy of Sciences; Wu Jianbo, Secretary of the CPC General Branch of TU’s School of Materials Science and Engineering; Ma Jingchun, Chairman of CAAMS; and representatives from institutions such as Xi’an Jiaotong University, Anhui University of Technology, and University of Science and Technology Beijing.

Opening ceremony and reports

The opening ceremony was hosted by Professor Wu Jianbo. Vladimir Levchenko delivered an enthusiastic keynote, envisioning extensive technical collaboration among China, Belarus, and Russia under the Belt and Road Initiative. He summarized the laboratory’s achievements over the past year and outlined future directions.

Ma Jingchun, representing CAAMS, extended a warm welcome and presented Vladimir Levchenko with an honorary mentorship certificate.

During the technical symposium, presentations were delivered by academics and experts, including Nikolai Maishkin, Vladimir Levchenko, Wang Ruijun, and scholars from Gomel State Technical University of Belarus, Anhui University of Technology, and University of Science and Technology Beijing.

In the afternoon, participants deliberated on the laboratory’s next steps, including forming a world-class academic committee and applying for a national level “Belt and Road” international joint laboratory. Representatives also toured the National Key Laboratory for Agricultural Equipment Technology, led by Wang Ruijun.
