Medical School of Taizhou University held the 20th session of the Taizhou Medical High-end Forum in Conference Room 305 on the morning of June 27th. The event featured a special academic report by Professor Wu Kongming from Tongji Hospital, Huazhong University of Science and Technology. The activity was chaired by Cao Xuan, Dean of the Medical School. Attendees included Chen Sai and Ye Ganghui from the Department of Hematology, and Zhang Yaqiong from the Department of Laboratory Medicine, all from Taizhou Central Hospital (Taizhou University Affiliated Hospital). Over 50 Medical School faculty and students were present. Professor Wu is also the Editor-in-Chief of Exp Hematol Oncol and Associate Editor of J Hematol Oncol.

In his report titled “Design, Writing, and Submission of High-Quality Medical Papers,” Professor Wu, drawing on his experience in writing, reviewing, and editing, provided examples of high-quality clinical research, outlined the basic requirements for high-quality papers, and emphasized the importance of eliminating common errors, avoiding direct rejection, and adhering to standardized writing practices.
During the Q&A session, the atmosphere was lively, with participants actively asking questions. They engaged in in-depth discussions with the expert on topics such as “how young doctors can balance clinical work and research in a clinical environment,” “how to choose language editing companies to optimize the academic language of papers,” and “how to avoid high similarity rates in papers.”

The Forum aims to strengthen academic exchanges between the Medical School and domestic and international peers, broaden the horizons of faculty and students, and enhance their capacity for innovation and entrepreneurship in medical science. This event provided direction on key aspects of high-quality medical research projects, including topic selection, experimental design, paper writing, and submission details.
Expert Profile:
Wu Kongming, Professor, Chief Physician, and Ph.D. Supervisor in the Department of Oncology, Tongji Hospital, Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology; specially appointed expert under the Hubei Province 100 Talents Plan.
He obtained his Ph.D. in Oncology from the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences in 1999 and conducted research on tumor molecular biology at several NCI-funded national cancer centers in the USA. He was promoted to Associate Professor at the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center, Thomas Jefferson University in 2011 and returned to China full-time in 2013.
His research focuses on signaling pathways in tumorigenesis and development, the tumor microenvironment, and anti-tumor antibodies. He has led the completion of multiple national research projects. He has published over 150 papers in internationally renowned academic journals such as J Hematol Oncol, PNAS, Advanced Science, and Cancer Research, with an H-index of 65.
He serves as Associate Editor of J Hematol Oncol and Editor-in-Chief of Exp Hematol Oncol. He was recognized as a Highly Cited Chinese Researcher in Clinical Medicine (Elsevier) from 2021-2024 and a Global Highly Cited Scientist (Clarivate) in 2024.
