On the afternoon of September 9th, Professor Ma Luting from Chinese National Academy of Educational Sciences, at the invitation of the Development and Planning Department, delivered an academic lecture titled “Promoting the Spirit of Educators to Foster Teachers’ Professional Development”. The lecture was held at the School of Teacher Education (Physical Education), hosted by Lin Huijie, Party Committee Secretary of the school. Heads of relevant university departments and leading body of the school, as well as key faculty members attended.
The spirit of educators serves as the soul and motivation for teachers’ professional development. Starting from the main theme in the Outline of Plan for Building China into a Leading Country in Education, Professor Ma unfolded his academic lecture around six aspects: Forging a Strong Teaching Force with the Spirit of Educators, “Upgrading” Development of the Era, Logic of Building a Leading Country in Education, Holistic Transformation in Higher Education, Promoting Teachers’ Professional Development, and Reflections on the Development of Educational Disciplines. By providing an in-depth interpretation of the contemporary connotations and core essence of the Spirit of Educators, the lecture explored how to guide teachers to go beyond technical levels and achieve the transformation from “teachers of academic knowledge” to “teachers of moral virtue”.
Combining the current reality of China’s educational reform and development, the academic lecture has broadened the horizon and provided forward-looking theoretical guidance and practical paths for educators to cultivate dedication, enhance competence, and achieve outstanding development.
After the lecture, Professor Ma exchanged views on the adjustment and development plan of the school’s disciplines and majors, and offered detailed answers and guidance, providing valuable reference for its future development.
