Professor Li Jianshe from Ningbo University lectured on sports science research

Professor Li Jianshe from Ningbo University, at the invitation of the School of Teacher Education (Physical Education) delivered a lecture titled “Miscellaneous Talks on Sports Science Research” on October 24. Chaired by School Party Secretary Lin Huijie, the event was attended by research faculty and students.

Lecture in Progress

Professor Li’s lecture covered three main areas:

1. Analyzing China’s state-sponsored system for Olympic success, comparing Sino-US competitive talent cultivation models, and suggesting “normalized” national fitness development based on Japanese and American cases.

2. Discussing core competencies for sports researchers, advocating being “perceptive in conduct, rational in work, and questioning in scholarship.” Sharing experiences from teaching and citing Yang Zhenning and Li Zhengdao, he encouraged “parallel thinking” and reducing “knowledge-based papers.”

3. Emphasizing problem identification and practical methods in sports research, proposing a three-step approach: “Read - Condense - Question.”

Using examples from the 2025 National Social Science Fund grants and practical projects like the “Wall-mounted Fitness Station,” he suggested exploring sports equipment and home fitness, leveraging Taizhou’s private economy strengths. He also acknowledged the strong foundational teaching skills of Taizhou University’s physical education majors.

Attendees listened attentively, taking notes. The Q&A session featured lively discussion on topics like “sports major development” and “AI in sports research,” which Professor Li addressed in detail. Participants found the lecture theoretically profound and practically relevant, offering clear guidance for academic and research directions, serving as a quality exchange platform that broadened horizons and deepened understanding, thereby boosting the discipline’s development and talent training quality.
