Two TU undergraduates, Wang Yuhe and Lin Junhao from the School of Electronics and Information Engineering, has recently published online their latest research results “Blind Quality Evaluator for Enhanced Colonoscopy Images by Integrating Local and Global Statistical Features” in IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement (CAS Zone 2, Impact Factor 5.6), a top international SCI journal in the field of instrumentation and measurement. TU is the first completion unit.
Block diagram of blind quality evaluator for enhanced colonoscopy images
This research proposed a novel blind enhanced colonoscopy image quality evaluator by integrating local and global statistical features to settle the problem of visual distortion introduced during the low-light enhancement process for medical colonoscopy images. This evaluator can automatically and effectively evaluate the visual quality of enhanced colonoscopy images while maintaining a high correlation with the human visual perception system. The findings of this research are expected to contribute to the accurate screening and diagnosis of gastrointestinal diseases in clinical practice.
This research was funded by National Natural Science Foundation of China (No. 62471328) and Zhejiang Province College Students’ Scientific and Technological Innovation Project (2022R436A003).
