On November 22nd, China Society of Image and Graphics (CSIG) released the “Notice of CSIG Science and Technology Award for the Year 2024”, and the project “Intelligent Detection and Industrialization of Key Equipment for Flexible Manufacturing of Clothing” from the School of Electronic and Information Engineering of our university, with Professor Zhang Shiqing and Associate Professor Lou Liangliang as the main completers and TU as the first completion unit, won the Second Prize of Science and Technology Progress Award.
Professor Zhang Shiqing’s team has developed a high-speed imaging system for anti-duplication and accurate positioning of fabric imaging, a visual image intelligent detection technology based on deep neural network in the process of garment customization, a lightweight design of model and FPGA deployment for the high computational complexity of deep neural network, and an all-in-one intelligent detection system with the application of the “Intelligent Detection and Industrialization of Key Equipment of Garment Flexible Manufacturing.” The project is an integrated intelligent inspection system, which can be applied to the complete set of automated garment flexible manufacturing line to reduce the production cost, improve the efficiency of the production line and achieve the goal of automated production. The award-winning project has been funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Zhejiang Provincial “Sharp” Key R & D Project and other projects.
It is reported that, established in 1990, CSIG is a national first-class society approved by the Ministry of Civil Affairs. It is an official group member of the China Association for Science and Technology. The Science and Technology Progress Award of CSIG is granted to individuals and organizations that have made outstanding contributions in the field of image graphics in China, including the application and promotion of advanced scientific and technological achievements, as well as the completion of major scientific and technological projects, plans and projects. For the 2024 annual awards, a total of 8 Science and Technology Progress Awards were selected, including 3 first prizes and 5 second prizes, making it very competitive and difficult to win. This award signifies that Professor Zhang Shiqing’s team has made progress and breakthroughs in serving local industrial transformation and upgrading.
