School of Pharmaceutical and Chemical Engineering is awarded as the Zhejiang’s advanced unit in post merit-based activity of “Sanyuren” (which literally means “to educate through knowledge, administration and service”), and two teachers, Jin Yanxian and Mei Jiao, are honored as advanced individuals in the post merit-based activity of Zhejiang province, according to the circular recently released by Zhejiang Education Trade Union.

Post Merit-based Activity of “Sanyuren” of Zhejiang Province Advanced Unit
School of Pharmaceutical and Chemical Engineering adheres to the guidance of the CPC construction and pursues the socialist-oriented education. It fosters the enthusiasm and stimulates the creativity of the faculty to “educate through knowledge, administration and service”, and carries forward the professional spirit of dedication and hard work.
Adhering closely to the industrial needs of Taizhou, the school has developed the “industry-rooted, locally targeted, pioneering” model of training applied talents in pharmaceutical and chemical industry. The concept and practice of “coordinated education among the three institutes” have been extensively recognized for its graduates enjoy a good reputation and are in short supply. The school has one master’s degree program, with its chemistry discipline ranking top 8‰ of ESIin the world, and 7 of the faculty listed in the top 2% of the world's top scientists. Besides, it explored the mechanism of school-enterprise collaboration for win-win situation. It set up 14 “1139 science and technology teams”, and, targeting the technical problems in the countryside, enterprises and industries, carried out scientific researches and promoted local agriculture through technologies. The work has attracted the attention of Guangming Daily, China Education Daily, and other mainstream media.
Post Merit-based Activity of “Sanyuren” of Zhejiang Province Advanced Individuals
Jin Yanxian, professor, doctoral supervisor, are awarded such titles as “High-level and Top-notch” Talent of Universities of Zhejiang Province and “Outstanding Young Teacher of Zhejiang Province”, and is now deputy director of Science and Technology Department, TU.
She has been dedicated to teaching for eighteen years lighting up her students’ dreams. First, as the leader of the Provincial ideological and Political Model Teaching Team and Taizhou Famous Teacher Studio, she promoted ideological andpolitical education through practice programs, and enhanced cultivating “Outstanding Engineers”. Moreover, being the leader of the first batch of provincial teaching materials base for new materials, she promoted the integrated construction of curriculum and teaching materials; she advanced the reform of the “three-institution collaboration” applied talent cultivation mode and won two second prizes of Provincial Teaching Achievement Award (presided over one). In addition, she cared for the growth of students and focused on the cultivation of students' innovation and entrepreneurship. She guided students to win 6 national and provincial innovation and entrepreneurship projects and published more than 10 SCI papers. As the first tutor, she guided students to win one bronze award in the National "Internet+" Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition and one silver award in the Provincial “Internet+” Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition. What’s more, she guided many students to enter the graduate school of East China University of Science and Technology, and other famous universities.
She centered on the frontier field of fuel cell and made remarkable scientific achievements in the field. She presided over 2 national fund projects, 5 provincial projects such as the provincial “sharp soldier” R&D project and published over 50 SCI papers. In addition, she led the first batch of women's scientific and technological innovation studio of Zhejiang Province,and “women’s team” to serve private enterprises, achieving significant social and economic benefits with technical service output value of more than 1 billion yuan. Besides, she served as the director of Zhejiang Women's Association for Science and Technology, and president of Taizhou Women's Association for Science and Technology, building platforms to facilitate high-quality development of Taizhou scientifically and technologically. Apart from the above, she also led the association to conduct popularization activities, striving to popularize science, spread scientific ideas, and help improve the scientific quality of the people.
Mei Jiao, Master, the deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Intelligent Manufacturing (School of Aeronautical Engineering), won the honors of “Outstanding Communist Party Member of Taizhou Direct Organs” and “Advanced Worker of TU”.
She consistently takes the ideological education and growth of college students as the starting point and foothold of her work. She has devoted herself to the cultivation of students for 21 years, remaining true to the original intention of education and shouldering the mission of “cultivating morality”.
In line with the philosophy of “do everything possible for all students to achieve all-round development”, she did practical things for students and solved their difficulties. She explored a new vision on the basis of the “Party building +” model, and effectively took the party building boosting as an “important starting point” for the construction of the “three-full education” system. Thanks to those efforts, the first Party branch of the faculty won the “national model branch”, the Party committee the “benchmarking unit of the provincial Party building work” and other honors. Moreover, she explored and practiced the effective methods of ideological and political education of college students, earnestly listened to her students’ questions and answered them patiently, adopted multiple measures, striving to be a caring person for students.
Scientific planning is the foundation of practical education. Based on the professional characteristics of the school, she was committed to building a student work brand featuring “one section, one camp, one workshop and one style”. She explored the path and measures of educating people with culture. Through the three “one” endeavors, namely “One File Per Person”, “Daily Talk” and “Weekly Report”, she did a good job in graduates’ employment guidance, education, and service, with the employment assessment ranking among the best in the university for three consecutive years. The “three navigation” plan was implemented to facilitate students to take the postgraduate entrance examination. The admission rate of students to graduate school has been above 20% in the past three years, ranking among the top of TU.
With the goal of imparting knowledge and educating people, she devoted herself to acquiring teaching skills. She taught such courses as mental health education, career planning, employment guidance, situation policy, etc. She carefully prepared classes in line with the students’ realities and made the class lively and popular with students. At the same time, she conducted research based on her work, presiding over, or participatingin 11 projects at provincial, municipal and university levels, participating in the publication of 2 textbooks, and winning 4 paper awards at provincial and municipal levels, and more than 10 prizes and honors at various levels.
