The silver medal winners, who are from the School of Art and Design, are Tang Weibo, Shen Wang’ao, Xue Hao, and Hu Shuqi and others. They were coached by 4 teachers including Zhao Zhenhua, Hua Hanji, and Gong Lu. With the core concept of “technology leads fashion, innovation brings growth”, the project has established the largest database of children’s shoe lasts in China. Based on three core algorithms such as Shoes Diffusion to generate child shoe models, the project has created the “Design Cube” platform, which helps to shorten the length of shoe designing. It commits itself to healthy wearing of child shoes and means to build a leading child shoe brand in China. The “McBarbi” team project focused on students’ ability to apply cross-disciplinary knowledge and practical pioneering spirit of innovation, and fully interpreted “I dare to break through, I will create” in the whole process of the new era of college students’ style and commitment.
The project “Yuyan Technology--Low Carbon City Guardian”, which won the bronze medal in the national competition through online evaluation, was selected by the School of Pharmaceutical and Chemical Engineering. The team composed of 10 students, including Yang Haiqin, Chen Zhiyuan, Zhao Mengyuan, and 4 instructors, including Huang Guobo, Chen Wei, and Li Xin. Actively responding to the call of “Double Carbon Action”, the team pioneered the use of the phosphorus and nitrogen interlayer hydrotalcite, and successfully developed rubber-plastic thermal insulation panels, tubes, profiles, etc., with highly efficient flame-retardant smoke suppression performance, to address the challenges of “the last kilometer of industrialization” for the flame-retardant insulation materials. It is committed to the concept of integrating green security into the company’s development strategy and contribute to the “dual-carbon action”.
It is learned that since the launch of the event in May this year, a total of 5,140,000 projects and 20,836,000 people from 5,406 schools in 153 countries and regions at home and abroad have signed up to participate in the event. A total of 5,606 students from TU have registered for the competition, with a participation rate of 33.06% and a total of 609 participating projects, which have won 1 gold, 7 silver and 3 bronze medals in the provincial competition, and 2 projects have been shortlisted for the National Competition. During the preparation for the National Competition, university leaders visited the preparation site several times and guided the project team to conduct simulated roadshows. The School of Entrepreneurship actively organized expert reviews, counseling, competition camps and other activities. The School of Art and Design and other units actively participated in on-site security services.
TU will continue to optimize the dual-creation education system and promote teaching, learning, innovation by competition to explore the effective mechanism of science-education integration and industry-education integration and guide the majority of young students to engage in science and technology innovation.
