The final round of the 14th “Challenge Cup” QinChuangYuan Platform National College Students’ Entrepreneurship Competition was held on November 2 at Xi’an Jiaotong University. TU won one silver award and one bronze award, making a major breakthrough in its history of competition.

After university competition and provincial competition, a total of two teams from TU entered the national competition. During the preparation for the national competition, the university took the lead in organizing and mobilizing a number of experts and scholars to conduct systematic training and coaching for the participating teams. The project “Creating Apricot Brand Supply Chain with Shaanxi Features” by the team led by Wang Yitian from the School of Marxism and guided by teachers Zhang Tianhua, Wang Zailiang, Xu Peilin, Li Yuehua, and Zhong Bingyu was shortlisted for the final of the national competition. Thanks to the team’s refining the roadshow scripts and simulating the defense situation before the final competition, a silver award was won. The project “Leading Traditional Culture Drones Show” by a team led by Pan Jiawei from the School of Intellectual Manufacturing (Aeronautical Engineering) and guided by teachers Wu Lingwei, Liu Xu, Shen Di won the bronze award.

TU has attached great importance to the innovation and entrepreneurship work of its students, incorporated the innovation and entrepreneurship education reform into the university’s development strategy and planning objectives, and regarded the cultivation of high-quality and applied talents with “national sentiments, reclamation will, solid skills” as a major mission of the local applied universities and the requirements of the times. In order to prepare for the 14th “Challenge Cup” competition, the University League Committee, relevant departments and schools made concerted efforts in terms of selecting the topic, launching the competition, cultivating the project, polishing and upgrading the project, and others. The participating students and teachers made great efforts for the successful achievement of the goal in the “Challenge Cup” competition.
This year’s competition was jointly organized by the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, the Chinese Association for Science and Technology, the All-China Federation of Students, and the People’s Government of Shaanxi Province, and was undertaken by Xi’an Jiaotong University and the Shaanxi Provincial Committee of the Communist Youth League. Since its launch in June 2024, the competition has attracted the participation of more than 3 million students from more than 2,700 colleges and universities, who cumulatively submitted more than 390,000 innovation and entrepreneurship projects. After the preliminary rounds at the university level and the provincial review rounds, a total of 839 projects from 412 domestic universities and 14 international universities entered the final evaluation of the national final rounds, and ultimately 280 projects for gold awards, 559 projects for silver awards, and 1,559 projects for bronze awards were to be selected (of which 100 projects for gold awards in the special rounds, 200 projects for silver awards, and 300 projects for bronze awards).
