TU delivered its best performance in 2024 Zhejiang Provincial Summer Social Practice Research Report Competition concluded on November 23. TU won 1 first prize, 2 second prizes, and 2 third prizes, achieving the best results in its history. The event was jointly hosted by the Publicity Department of the CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee, Zhejiang Provincial Department of Education, Zhejiang Provincial Committee of the Communist Youth League, and Zhejiang Provincial Students Federation. It was held at Zhejiang A&F University.

This year’s Zhejiang Provincial Summer Social Practice Research Report Competition focused on the theme of “Youth Taking Responsibility for Chinese-Style Modernization.” It centered on 10 themes including the in-depth study of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, comprehensive implementation of the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, patriotism education, Chinese cultural inheritance, rural revitalization, grassroots service, national unity, common prosperity, the “Ten Million Projects,” beautiful Zhejiang, and integrity among youth in Zhejiang, and others. This event saw 864 research reports submitted by 98 universities across the province. After written evaluation, three of TU’s teams were shortlisted for the final round of defense at the provincial competition.
Based on the earlier review of research report texts, the event was divided into five categories, namely “Development Achievements,” “Governance in China,” “Civilization and Culture,” “People’s Well-being,” and “Beautiful China”, for group defenses, fully demonstrating the youthful demeanor of TU’s young students who have engaged in practical activities and diligently pursued learning. “Bonding Zhejiang and Xinjiang with Shade of Red” practice team from the School of Marxism explored the national cultures of Alar in Xinjiang, and those of Lishui and Taizhou in Zhejiang, and conducted research on fostering a sense of community among young people of the Chinese nation in the new era through youth exchanges, demonstrating the image of contemporary youth with pragmatic actions. “My Contribution to Paving the Road to a Wealthy and Beautiful Homeland” team from the School of Humanities responded to the rural revitalization strategy, contributed to the construction of beautiful villages, and contributed to rural revitalization. “Survey on Positive Mental Health Literacy of College Students” practice team from the School of Life Sciences conducted interviews and field visits with questionnaires to understand the status of positive mental health literacy among college students and provided suggestions for enhancing their mental health.

The research report by the “Bonding Zhejiang and Xinjiang with Shade of Red” Practice Team titled “Jointly Painting the Future of Xinjiang: An Exploration of Youth Practices Focusing on Both Cultural Enrichment and Economic Assistance to Xinjiang, with Emphasis on Ethnic Unity” won the first prize. The report by the “My Contribution to Paving the Road to a Wealthy and Beautiful Homeland” Practice Team titled “Taizhou Sample of Rural Revitalization: An Exploration of the Differentiated Development Paths and Universal Theories of Three Villages under the Rural Revitalization Strategy” and the report by the “Survey on Positive Mental Health Literacy of College Students” Practice Team titled “Research on the Current Situation and Countermeasures of Positive Mental Health Literacy of College Students: A Case Study of College Students in Taizhou City” won the second prizes. The report by the “Common Prosperity, Sharing Prosperity” Practice Team titled “Common Prosperity, Sharing Prosperity: A Case Study Based on Four Provincial-Level Common Prosperity Workshop Demonstration Sites in Taizhou City, Zhejiang Province” and the report by the “New Quality Productivity” Practice Team titled “Decoding Taizhou’s ‘New Quality Productivity’ from the Perspective of Generation Z Young People” from the School of Business won the third prizes.
