TU’s General Physical Education (PE) Wushu Team has returned with honors from the Zhejiang Provincial College Students Wushu Championship, held at the Pinghu City Gymnasium in Jiaxing from May 15th to 19th.
The team, representing students from the School of Life Sciences, School of Intelligent Manufacturing (Aeronautical Engineering), School of Civil Engineering and Architecture, School of Medicine, and School of Materials Science and Engineering, was led by Team Leader Shen Jianmin and coached by Zhang Bo, Chen Qin, and Wang Yinghui. They competed against teams from other universities across Zhejiang province.

Competitors displayed steady movements and powerful techniques, showcasing the essence of Chinese martial arts. Their performances with swords, spears, staffs, and other weapons vividly demonstrated both the power of long weapons and the precision of short ones. The team’s impressive performance highlighted TU students’ determination, competitive spirit, and commitment to TU’s martial tradition, which emphasizes both martial virtue (Wude) and the pursuit of excellence.
TU Wushu Team achieved remarkable success, winning a total of 3 Gold Medals and 1 Silver Medal. They also earned 2nd Place in the Men’s Team category, 8th Place in the Women’s Team category, and the prestigious “Ethical Conduct Award.”
