Teams led by Mao Jinglin (School of Foreign Languages) and Qiu Pengyuan (School of Intelligent Manufacturing) earned Second Prizes. The competition, focused on “Driving Teaching Innovation to Cultivate Top Talent,” supports provincial and national education strategies, including the 2024—2035 Master Plan on Building China into a Leading Country in Education. It aims to advance teaching excellence, set reform benchmarks, and select candidates for the national competition. Entries were judged across 7 categories like emerging fields, core courses, curriculum ideo-politics, and industry collaboration. The process involved online reviews followed by live finals. Starting in March, 351 teachers/teams from 62 Zhejiang universities competed. After rigorous selection, 136 participants from 50 institutions reached the finals, resulting in 25 Grand Prizes, 37 first, 74 second, and 215 third-place awards.

TU launched its competition effort in May 2024. The Center for Faculty Teaching Development adopted a “competition-driven teaching improvement” strategy. This included: special policies to encourage participation; dedicated teams guiding participants throughout; regular workshops, expert talks, and peer exchange forums; multiple rounds of feedback on materials and presentation rehearsals for provincial finalists, refining their course designs, implementation plans, and impact demonstrations. This comprehensive support empowered faculty to showcase their strongest innovative teaching practices.

These impressive wins highlight the university’s commitment to teaching innovation and its faculty’s skill and dedication. The university will build on this success to further enhance teaching quality and student learning, contributing to the advancement of higher education. The 25 Grand Prize winners, including Li Jianjun’s team from TU, will now advance to represent Zhejiang Province at the 5th National College Teaching Innovation Competition.
